Project 365 {365/031}

Project 365
{365/031}

Today we walked around a nearby shopping center for some fresh air and while the kiddos were running around like lunatics, my dad sat down and fiddled with his phone for a bit. This gave me an idea. I gave my phone to Evan and I asked him to sit down next to papa. I thought it would make a fun photo of the two of them sitting down together and playing with their phones. What I didn't expect was for Morgan to sneak over and get in on the shot. I thought this was so funny!

Project 365
{365/030}

This evening we attended a birthday party at Chuck E Cheese and man o man, what a wonderland this place is for a photographer! Colors, lights and happy faces abound and I had a great time finding fun shots of both my kiddos.

Project 365
{365/029}

Even though I set up this shot, I love it because it's of a father and his baby girl. Spending a few quiet moments on the floor doodling on a magnet board. Hearing her sweet voice chatting away and his deep loving tone touches my heart like only a mama's heart can understand. I love them. To pieces.

Project 365
{365/028}

This morning when I went into Evan's room to get him ready for school, he had already opened the blinds and the most beautiful sunlight was coming through the window. I showed it to him and then quickly ran to get my camera. It was just so pretty.

And I need to clean my windows.

Project 365
{365/027}

Everyday, little miss is showing her independence. Walks don't occur without some sort of fight if she can't walk on her own. So this morning when we picked big brother up from school, I let her walk for bit without holding my hand. Shortly after this shot was taken, I grabbed her hand to walk across the street and you would have thought the world was coming to an end.

Sometimes birthday gifts for other people are irresistible. Before it was wrapped, Morgan was carrying it around the house as if it were hers. Luckily she did a very good job of handing it over to it's recipient.

Project 365
{365/025}

The kiddos are showing signs of picture overload and I'm starting to think I may need to find other things to photograph....once in a while. I was lucky to even get this shot of Evan looking at a new book just before the sun went down. Please pardon the clutter in the background. I swear I had picked it up this morning.

Project 365
{365/024}

This week was one of those go to the park a lot week. We started going to this really nicely shaded park around the corner from the house that I really like. The kids seem to like it and we've had a couple play dates there. Morgan is getting really good at going down the slide semi-assisted. I like being able to stand at a small distance and watch her play. She gets to be grown up and I get to take pictures.

This evening Evan had to write an apology letter to his teacher for his behavior in class today. Apparently they had music and animals in class this morning and according to Evan, he was just too excited. According to his teacher, he couldn't control his body. Ha! Um, I mean, that's not acceptable.

Project 365 {365/022}

Project 365
{365/022}

It was already evening by the time I realized that I hadn't taken my photo of the day. I usually try to shoot during day light simply because I prefer that lighting but I've also recently really gotten into low light photography. Finding light in simple places has become something of a fun challenge for me. A dark kitchen lit up only by the light from the refrigerator turns into something magical when I'm behind the lens. Add in a cute toddler and it's even better.

Project 365
{365/021}

It's another day where I just can't decide. So today's a two photo day.

While waiting for dad to get home from work, the kids and I ran around out front in the sunshine. I asked Evan to be goofy...which is never a problem.

And then this evening while big brother and daddy did homework, little sis and I played in the family room with a little light up quacking ducky. The little light in a dark room was really cool!

Project 365
{365/019}

Today was another day of practice for our Sugar High mini's coming up in a few weeks. Little missy wore her new dress I bought her at the craft fair black Friday weekend. She wasn't too willing to have her picture taken yet again so I improvised. I really love this shot.

It was a laid back Saturday over here and the dude spent most of it playing video games. I had an afternoon family session and when I returned home, he was still at it. I blame dad.

Project 365
{365/017}

Evan had the day off from school and after lounging around the house all morning and some fabric shopping in the afternoon, we headed to the park to run off some energy. Little sis is becoming more and more independent with each passing day. I can't believe she'll be 2 next month!

Project 365

After weeks of rolling ideas around and around in my head, I finally came up with my Valentine mini session concept for this year. Little miss was a great help with the set up today. A little candy bride didn't hurt either.

Project 365
{365/015}

We went to a birthday party for an old friend from Evan's preschool this afternoon. They had a balloon artist there and he made Morgan some super cute fairy wings and a wand. But of course, she just couldn't be bothered with either of them. No, the water jug was much more entertaining. And of course, drinking it was just as fun.

Tonight Evan and I had fun playing with the new circus play tent. I picked it up yesterday when we were at Ikea and I just love it! I can't wait to use it in natural light but tonight we played with flashlights and it was fun!

Project 365
{365/013}

My dad and I took an adventure with the kiddos to Ikea this afternoon to pick up a few things. First, I just have to say, I LOVE Ikea. Secondly, I HATE their carts. Maybe I'm lame and don't know how to push those things but I hate them. And I'm pretty sure they hate me.

But....they sure do make great photo props. But that's all.

Project 365
{365/012}

I started preparing for Valentine mini sessions today and the dude was my practice model. I bribed him with some M&M's and he promised he would cooperate.

Wrong.

But really, who could blame him? He's a totally rockin' kid.

Project 365
{365/011}

This morning we got so spend some time with my nephew while mommy and daddy were working. We had a fun time playing on the ground and watching Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood. After I changed little man's diaper, I got him dressed and while going through his bag, I found this adorable hat. As soon as I put it on him, I just had to take some pictures of all the stinkin' adorableness!

Project 365
{365/010}

Wanting to get out and photograph in a new place, I decided to take the kiddos on an adventure to a nearby monastery. It was just full of beautiful greenery and pathways that streamed with sunlight. I dressed the kiddos in fun rain boots and colorful jackets and it was the perfect contrast against the pretty scenery.

Project 365 {365/009}

Project 365
{365/009}

Instead of just sitting at home after school today, I took the kiddos to the mall for our 365. I'm getting myself into the mindset that I just don't care what people think of me. I need to step out of my comfort zone and just shoot. So that's what I did today. And it was pretty funny.

But first, I have two photos to share for today. I just couldn't decide. We first stopped at the candy store. Not for candy (but we did buy some gummies because I couldn't just use them for their colorful store and not buy something...) but for the bright vibrant colors. Such a fun place to photograph.

And then we stopped at Target in the children's book section. So there I am, sitting on the ground on my feet photographing Evan reading a book when I hear someone with small children standing near me. I tell myself, "I don't care what they think. I'm here to work on my photography skills. I won't see them ever again anyway." And then I hear, "Veronnica?" I look over and it's a friend of mine and her kiddos. Oops. I was caught. Sitting on the floor of Target photographing my son reading a book. But you know what? I didn't care. We just chuckled about it and then proceed to chit chat about our lives and kids before saying our goodbyes.

So, a trip to the mall can be fun with your camera. You just got to tell yourself that it's okay. ;)

Project 365 {365/008}

Project 365
{365/008}

Today I brought my camera with me when I picked big brother up from school. I was digging the colors of some of his friends clothing and so I set them up together on the sidewalk for a quick snapshot.

It's the little things that get me all giddy. Like bright orange sweatpants and tiny blue stripes on shoes.

Project 365 {365/007}

Project 365
{365/007}

After school today, we had lunch with dad at work and then came back home for some much over due chores. As I was cleaning the kitchen, I noticed a suspicious sound coming from the family room. Yep, just as I suspected. The dude was jumping on the couch. So I did what any normal mother would do and I took pictures.

I'm a bad mom.

Project 365 {365/006}

Project 365
{365/006}

Today was an interesting day. Morgan still isn't feeling well and in turn, her mood has been the pits. After a demon child came out in the morning, she crashed in the car and this mama wasn't about to wake it. I opted for a drive through the Mickey D's drive thru for lunch and the big kid, papa and I drove around eating our lunch while scouting new photography locations.

After it woke up, um, I mean, Morgan woke up, we spent the afternoon playing. Thankfully she woke up on the right side of the nap bed and the rest of the day was smooth sailing.

Here's to hoping tomorrow is much, much better.

Project 365
{365/005}

I've discovered something.

In the 4 shorts days that I've been working on this project, I've already learned some new things. I've learned that I'm just not happy if my image isn't tack sharp. I've been playing around a lot with my SS and ISO settings and light bulbs in my head are going off that I thought were already on. It just goes to show that practice really does make perfect.

Project 365
{365/004}

Little missy has been so sick for almost a week. Her poor little voice is all raspy and her cough his just awful. It's so hard to see your babies sick. I wanted to take a picture of her little face close up but this was the best I could get.

I need to confess something.

I have a new found obsession with "Old Lady" books. I found this new one the other night at Target and just had to get it. Evan always asks me, "Why did you get ANOTHER one?" What can I say, I'm loving me some Scholastic books since Kinder started!

Project 365 {365/001}

Project 365
{365/001}

It's a little late, especially for my first day, but little missy has been wicked sick over the past few days and we just finally got her down for the night after a major melt down.

Please pray for us.

Anywho, this is my first photo of the year and it's of my three favorite people. Missy was really cranky so daddy was cuddling her and big brother came up to join in. I saw this sweet moment and snatched up my camera. Since it was later in the day, I had to crank up the ISO so it's a little noisy.
