Today our little missy turned 2. We had a fun day of visiting with friends and family and she's now tucked snuggily in her bed.

Dear Morgan,

You are such a wonderful little girl and I love you so very much. Thank you for being my daughter and for coming into our lives two years ago. You have made our family complete and I will work every day of the rest of my life protecting and loving you.

Last week I got the kids new lunch boxes and I think I'm more excited about them then they are. I found them at a baby boutique in Los Gatos and while they're a little more than I would normally spend on a lunch box, I knew we'd use them for a long time. AND every part can go into the dishwasher. Did you hear that?

Oh, and this shot was set up by non other than Miss Morgan.

It seems as though I have a little artist on my hands. Morgan is seriously into coloring, sometimes with a crayon in each hand at the same time. I'm loving this.

Bath.time is always a crazy time around here. I'm not sure why it's takes me forever to just bathe one child when Ben can get it done in minutes flat. Maybe it's because I multitask? Who knows.

My dad and I took the kids to the beach today for Evan's last day of winter break. It turned out to be a very beautiful day and I'm so glad we made the trip over the hill. Both Evan and Morgan loved playing in the sand and watching the waves roll in and out. Afterward, we went to downtown Santa Cruz and had lunch at this fun Italian deli while the kiddos ate their home packed lunches they had in their brand new lunch boxes. It was a fun day!

Evan's been staying out of the view of the camera as of late. I don't know, I guess it has something to do with his not liking to have his picture taken right now. At least that's what he tells me. However, I was able to snap a few quick shots of him while he watched some TV after dinner this evening.

Little missy will be celebrating her 2nd birthday next week. Papa gave her her birthday gift early and they were some super cute pink high top converse. It was love at first sight and after she woke up for her nap, she immediately said, "Shoes, shoes.". So shoes it was...for almost the rest of the night.

It was a lazy day around these parts today. Lazy included not wanting to make breakfast. So we headed over to the donut shop for some sprinkled goodness. Morgan likes to eat her sprinkles one by one. Cute but makes for a long breakfast.

Sometimes it pays to forget to take your photo of the day during daylight. Finding light is fun when you're able to get creative. Little miss was completely absorbed with Daniel Tiger's Neighborhood this evening before bed so I took advantage and used light from the TV to capture her cuteness.

As I mentioned the other day, we had a great Valentine's day around here. One of the highlights was getting these beautiful roses from my hubby! He surprised me the day before Valentine's day so that I could enjoy them a day earlier. I love'em...and him.

Happy Valentine's Day!

This was probably the funnest Valentine's Day in recent memory. Ben took the day off and I got to spend the morning in Evan's class helping out with the Valentine's party. We took the kids out to a Valentine's lunch and then took a short stroll over to this new yummy ice cream sandwich place. After that we spent the rest of the afternoon at home where we all (except the boy) took naps (nice long naps) and then we ordered in Chinese food for dinner.

It was a great day together as a family on Valentine's Day and I wouldn't have had it any other way.

I've always enjoyed Valentine's day but once I had children, it just means so much more. Instead of just one Valentine each year, I now have three. I love putting together Valentines with Evan and making sweet goodies to eat. But if we're talking about this year, going to a fun bakery and buying sweet goodies is just as fun. So that's what we did!

Little miss really loves her crayons. We spent part of the morning after breakfast coloring. I'm enjoying this time with her. Evan wasn't (and still isn't) much into art. Much like his daddy. So I'm more than happy to oblige when she asks, "color? color?"

Today was the second and last day of our Sugar High mini sessions. After putting up my set up this morning, Morgan helped me out again and let me take some pictures of her. I had stopped at Home Goods yesterday afternoon and while I was there, I picked up this cute little rocking horse that was on clearance. I can't believe she's still little enough to sit on something so tiny!

This week Evan and I started work on his Valentine's cards for his class. I cut out some large hearts and I thought it would be a cute photo of him holding up the 'negative' of the cut out. I think he's pretty darn cute and he can be my Valentine anytime.

First I just have to admit that this photo was taken yesterday. It was going to be the photo for yesterday but then I put up my Valentine's decorations and decided to take the picture that I posted then. I feel like it's cheating, but really this is my project and I guess I can just go by my own rules. At least that's what I tell myself. Plus I just kept forgetting to take my photo today.

The inspiration for this photo was from a card I saw recently and I decided to put my own spin on it. I'm thankful for a hubby and son who humor me in my photography endeavors.

I put up my Valentine's decorations this evening and I just love the strand of red lights that now adorn my mantel. I'm really looking forward to taking fun photos with a love theme for the next couple weeks and I decided to kick that off today!
